There are liars, and then there are liars

Anti-war rallies have always been the best places to go to witness the deep divisions that partisan politics have created in American society. This rally happened down the street from the Bush family's expansive seaside compound and featured rancorous protests and odious utterances on both sides. This guy's sign was a cut above. He drew the interesting distinction between pathological (chronic) liars and psychopathic (abnormal, violent) liars to describe the administration. But forget the nuances. If you examine Bush & Co.'s pre-invasion rhetoric on Iraq and their subsequent conduct of the war, you'll see that either word works just fine. Not that it matters much now. If we've learned anything from all this it's that fooling some of the people some of the time is all it takes.
